ADEN — The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council announced on Monday that a committee was established to restructure the Yemeni army and security forces to maintain peace and security throughout the country.
According to the Saba News Agency (SANA), the Council approved the formation of “the Security and Military Committee entrusted with realizing security and stability and restructuring the armed and security forces in accordance with Article (5) for declaring power transfer in the country.”
“A joint security and military committee will be formed to realize security and stability through adopting policies banning eruption of armed conflicts across Yemen, taking necessary steps to realize integration of armed forces under united leadership in accordance to the rule of law, ending split of armed forces and ending all armed conflicts.”
The council also agreed on forming a committee to evaluate and restructure intelligence apparatus. — Agencies
