DAMMAM — Al-Shabab continued their impressive performance in the Saudi Pro League with their second consecutive win, defeating Al-Qadsiah 1-0 in a match held at the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
The victory marked Al-Qadsiah’s first loss of the season, halting their perfect record after winning their first two matches.
The only goal of the game was scored by Majed Kanbah in the 14th minute, bringing Al-Shabab’s points tally to six and compensating for their earlier loss to Al-Ettifaq in the first round.
In a show of solidarity, Al-Shabab players raised a shirt with the name of their injured teammate Fahd Al-Muwallad after scoring, and wore a jersey bearing his number 8 before the match. Al-Qadsiah players also paid tribute by donning shirts with Al-Muwallad’s image and well-wishes for his recovery.
In another thrilling encounter in Al-Rass, newly promoted teams Al-Kholood and Al-Orobah played out a dramatic 3-3 draw. Al-Kholood took an early lead with a stunning goal by Aliou Dieng in the 9th minute, only for Al-Orobah to equalize through Jean Seri. The second half saw four more goals, with Al-Orobah’s Johann Gudmundsson initially putting them ahead, and Al-Kholood’s Alex Collado leveling the score. Al-Orobah regained the lead through Emmanuel Boateng, but a penalty from Myziane Maolida secured the draw for Al-Kholood.
