RIYADH — Al Hilal secured a thrilling 3-2 comeback win against Al Raed in the dying moments of their Saudi Pro League clash in Round 13, but the victory was overshadowed by a concerning injury to captain Salem Al-Dawsari.
The incident occurred in the 66th minute when Al-Dawsari collided head-first with Cameroonian defender Omar Gonzalez during an attacking play.
The Al Hilal captain lost consciousness immediately, prompting players from both teams to call for medical assistance. Al-Dawsari was rushed to the hospital for further evaluation.
On the field, Al Hilal came from behind twice to claim the victory. Karim Berkaoui opened the scoring for Al Raed in the 7th minute, but Sergej Milinković-Savić equalized for Al Hilal in the 42nd minute.
Yahya Sunbul restored Al Raed’s lead in the 77th minute before Marcos Leonardo equalized again for Al Hilal in the 87th minute.
The decisive moment came in the 13th minute of added time when Ali Al-Bulayhi’s towering header sealed the victory for Al Hilal, taking their tally to 34 points, two points behind league leaders Al Ittihad. Al Raed remains in 12th place with 14 points.
