RIYADH — Ten-time ATP title champion Matteo Berrettini has been named the new Tennis Ambassador for the Public Investment Fund (PIF), a partnership aimed at elevating tennis globally, nurturing young talent, and fostering accessibility at all levels.
Berrettini expressed his pride in the new role, highlighting the importance of teamwork in tennis.
“Partnerships in tennis are everything. The team around me is so important,” he said, emphasizing the collective efforts of coaches, fitness trainers, and agents in achieving success.
As a PIF ambassador, Berrettini’s mission extends beyond his personal career. “This goes beyond my tennis career. We want to make tennis bigger and better for everyone,” he remarked, underscoring his commitment to inspiring the next generation of players and making sports more accessible worldwide.
Berrettini noted the partnership’s potential to provide critical resources for players who lack foundational support.
“I was lucky enough to have my family behind me, but many players don’t have that opportunity,” he said.
The Italian tennis star also advocated for equal support for both ATP and WTA players, aiming to create a more inclusive and diverse tennis community. “Together, we build the future of tennis,” he concluded.
